Trial #1
21st– 25th May 2018, Warsaw, Poland
DRIVER+ Trial 1 has been organised in Warsaw from 21 to 25 May 2018 at the Main School of Fire Services (SGSP) in Poland, which is a state services’ national technical university, supervised by the Minister of the Interior and Administration. This Trial has been set up to demonstrate the potential interest of a more integrated high-level Crisis Management system in the European Union, in terms of improved situation assessment and awareness, coordination, resource pooling & sharing, and cross-border cooperation. The Trial, which has involved both tabletop and field components, served as a demonstration of a Common Operational Picture (COP) approach potential at the European level. To acheive this, solutions that are designed to enhance joint COP production and to improve interoperability between agencies have been assessed by practitioners coming from all over Europe. The Trial also delivered important feedback to the pan-European Test-bed, developed by the project. The results of the assessment of solutions will be stored in the DRIVER+ Portfolio of Solutions, a database-driven website describing the capabilities of all the available DRIVER+ Solutions.
The event lasted over four days and covered various exercices. The main scenario was a maintenance error causing massive release of chemical agent from a reservoir containing industrial liquid waste.
