Close synergies amongst all actors of the Crisis Management ecosystem will help to ensure that the European dimension is appropriately addressed, thus spreading excellence and maximising the expected impact of European Research & Innovation in Crisis Management.

Several organisations, initiatives and projects, external to the DRIVER+ consortium and belonging to the wide spectrum of Crisis Management, have been invited to participate in the first edition of the workshop on external cooperation during the DRIVER+ kick-off meeting held in Rotterdam on the afternoon of September 26th, 2017. The purpose of this workshop was not only to provide participants with information about the objectives, the planned activities and the expected outcomes of the project; but also, to initiated discussion on how, where and when DRIVER+ can best support their own initiative. The workshop was a highly successful exercise identifying cooperation opportunities.

The invited guests represented a targeted and initial sample of solutions providers, practitioner organisations, as well as authorities, international organisations and experts on fields highly relevant to crisis management, such as standardisation.

After having received information on the DRIVER+ vision, key objectives and activities by the project partners, the second part of the afternoon consisted in further engaging with them to jointly explore promising and concrete opportunities for cooperation.

The DRIVER+ consortium would like to warmly thank the International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS), the Portuguese ENB (Escola Nacional de Bobeiros),The City of The Hague, The United Union International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNIDSR), the Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC), CEN/TC 391, and also the INowIT initiative together with the ILEAnet and beAWARE H2020 projects for their participation and for the fuitful exchanges.

Additional events of the kind will be organised, whenever there is an opportunity, be it at DRIVER+ or at third party events. Stay tuned for more information to come!
